Using PrintMap3D

PrintMap3D turns real-world map areas into 3D-printable models. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the service.

Who operates PrintMap3D

PrintMap3D is operated from the United Kingdom by the PrintMap3D operator, who is also the data controller for personal data described in our Privacy notice. You can reach us by email for any purpose:

Cost — free beta

PrintMap3D is currently offered as a free beta. Generating models and downloading the print files costs nothing, we take no payments and we ask for no card details. Any “support” or “buy me a coffee” link is a voluntary tip handled by that provider and buys no product, feature or service level here. If we introduce paid features later we will say so on the site and update these terms and our Privacy notice before taking any payment.

Sharing a link

Copy editable link encodes the selected area and settings into the URL itself, so someone else can reopen the editor with them. Nothing is stored on our servers, and the link is neither private nor encrypted, so share it only with people you intend to — our Privacy notice sets out exactly what such a link carries.

You are responsible for the links you send. Don't use PrintMap3D to expose another person's home or private location, or in any way that is unlawful or infringes someone else's rights. We may remove any page we host that is reported to us or that we reasonably believe breaks these terms — see the “Report this page” link on model pages, or email abuse@printmap3d.com.

Service provided “as is”

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind. Generated models are derived from third-party map and elevation data and may contain inaccuracies; review each model before printing. To the extent permitted by law, PrintMap3D is not liable for any damages arising from use of the service or the models it produces.

Generated models are intended for visualization and 3D printing only. They should not be used for navigation, surveying, engineering, safety-critical, legal, or property-boundary purposes.

Acceptable use

Don't use the service to break the law, infringe others' rights, or disrupt, overload or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its infrastructure. We may apply rate limits and may suspend access that threatens the service's stability or other users.

In particular, you agree not to: use exports to reconstruct, extract, scrape or redistribute the raw underlying map, terrain, elevation or other geospatial databases; run automated or bulk model generation; scrape the service; place excessive load on it; or circumvent the area, rate or usage limits.

Intellectual property & third-party rights

Don't use PrintMap3D to create, download, publish, sell, distribute or otherwise use models that infringe someone else's rights — including copyright, trade marks, registered or unregistered designs, design rights, patents, or other intellectual property rights. You are responsible for making sure your use of the models you generate complies with applicable laws and third-party rights.

We may remove, disable or restrict access to specific models, pages, links or exports if they are reported, or we reasonably believe they infringe third-party rights, and we have no obligation to host, publish or keep available any model or page that may do so.

Maps & data

Generated models may include third-party open geospatial data — map features from © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) and terrain/elevation from the public AWS Terrain Tiles / Mapzen dataset. Your use of the generated models is also subject to the licenses of those underlying data sources. See our Data Sources & Licenses page for the full list, and please preserve attribution where required.

PrintMap3D provides generated 3D printable models, not the raw geospatial databases. Downloading a model does not transfer ownership of the underlying map, terrain, elevation or geospatial datasets, and PrintMap3D does not sell ownership of them. If commercial use is offered in future, it would not override the licenses of those third-party data sources.
